POSITION OVERVIEW

As the head of Product and AI Innovation at Learning.com, you will lead the vision and development of engaging, easy-to-use resources that support educators and empower students to build healthy and proficient relationships with technology. As the ideal candidate, you bring a passion for education, a collaborative spirit, and a sense of urgency to innovate responsibly—especially through demonstrated experiences leveraging AI and other emerging technologies. In this role, you’ll define and drive a clear, multi-year product strategy rooted in learning science, and an AI approach, ensuring alignment with our mission. You'll translate educators' needs to improve academic outcomes, develop practical life skills for K-12 students, and foster more meaningful connections with others into relevant, engaging resources. By guiding cross-functional teams and keeping a pulse on educator and workforce needs, you will ensure our products support current and future digital literacy needs of educators and students and deliver measurable impact. It’s essential that you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, champion user-centered design, and balance your natural curiosity for technology with a strong sense of responsibility for delivering thoughtful, impactful products to students and teachers as you help evolve the future of digital literacy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop and communicate a clear product strategy that aligns with Learning.com’s mission, market needs, and strategic goals, with an AI approach to enhance user experience, personalization, and learning outcomes.
  • Translate educator and workforce needs into engaging, easy-to-use experiences that teach core digital and AI literacy skills—not just through content, but through the product’s interactive design itself.
  • Champion product experiences that not only use AI but help users build AI literacy through interaction—supporting skills like prompting, iteration, and exploratory thinking in both students and educators. Partner with internal teams and leverage external experts and customer insights to define product requirements and priorities. 
  • Lead cross-functional workstreams including Sales, Marketing, Curriculum, Engineering, Data Analytics and Business Operations to harness data-driven insights to inform decisions and drive strategic impact
  • Collaborate with curriculum and learning science experts to ensure AI-powered features align with evidence-based pedagogy and age-appropriate skill development.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to identify and prioritize the systems and data needed to support AI-powered features and tools.
  • Actively monitor emerging technologies, championing responsible AI in education and rigorously evaluate and implement innovations that drive measurable learner success.
  • Represent Learning.com in discussions with key external partners, including state departments of education, school districts, policy makers and subject matter experts.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of product usage and engagement data and leverage insights to refine the user experience, inform decision-making, and demonstrate impact.
  • Drive product prioritization, financial performance tracking, and cross-functional execution across initiatives to deliver timely releases that align with market needs.
  • Guide user research and testing to ensure the voice of the customer is driving decisions and outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a lean, talented team through skill development, effective collaboration, and supporting a hungry, humble, and smart culture.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Passion for education, making a difference and living the values of the organization.
  • Demonstrate deep familiarity with the EdTech competitive landscape and K-12 education market dynamics to drive strategic product prioritization and roadmap decisions, including understanding of emerging AI-driven solutions and the unique challenges of the education sector.
  • 8-10 years of product management expertise in EdTech and SaaS business.
  • A user-centered approach to AI design, with an understanding of how interfaces can build users’ comfort, confidence, and fluency with emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of learning science principles and their practical application to product design and development.
  • An ability to challenge the status quo, collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, represent an unbiased perspective of market needs and lead a talented team to define, communicate and deliver an effective product strategy.
  • Experience prioritizing product features and defining minimum viable products, focusing on high-impact initiatives
  • 5+ years' experience leading a talented team within a fast-paced, quickly evolving organization while supporting the needed change management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, R&D, data analytics, and Product Lifecycle Management systems leveraging agile methodologies to foster cross-functional collaboration, rapid iteration, and continuous delivery of value.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with a highly effective, articulate, and clear communication style.
  • Enthusiastic about the opportunity to champion change in partnership with the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
