Manufacturing Engineer VI

Voyager Technologies is a defense, national security and space technology company delivering mission-critical solutions. We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the principal program manufacturing engineer supporting a Department of Defense program, driving production execution, manufacturability, quality, continuous improvement and supplier readiness to meet cost, schedule and technical requirements.

Skills

  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102 and ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Strong GD&T and manufacturability review skills
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
  • RCCA and MRB leadership experience
  • FAI process and first article review experience
  • Supplier evaluation and auditing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with EVMS/CAM and MDA Assurance Provisions (MAP/PMAP)
  • Non-destructive inspection/testing experience (solid propellants preferred)
  • Experience engaging with DoD customers and DCMA

Responsibilities

  • Define and document program manufacturing processes, work instructions, tools and training in collaboration with design, safety, quality and operations.
  • Provide daily manufacturing and test operations support to meet quality, OTD and cost targets.
  • Lead non-conformance investigations, root cause, corrective and preventive actions (RCCA) and MRB activities.
  • Support change management to implement process and design changes for improved manufacturing results.
  • Coach and train production technicians; maintain training records and provide frontline support.
  • Perform manufacturability reviews and provide feedback to Design Engineering prior to drawing release.
  • Conduct/approve First Article Inspections (FAI) and participate in Supplier First Article reviews.
  • Support supplier evaluations, Manufacturing Readiness Level Assessments (MRLAs) and supplier auditing.
  • Support hardware acceptance reviews, pre-ship reviews, internal/external audits and program status reviews.
  • Use quality metrics and trends to initiate improvements and support product FMEAs.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or relevant discipline from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree in STEM preferred
