Job Description

Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) is a world-class organization responsible for growing all flows between businesses and governments, from small businesses to the largest global corporations. The Core Products and Platforms team within VCS works closely with financial institutions and fintechs to bring payment solutions that meet the needs of growth corporates, large enterprises, multinationals, governments, public sector entities, and small businesses around the world. The team is responsible for the product development and management of a comprehensive array of solutions that meet the needs of these organizations. These solutions target such important segments as Fleet and Mobility, B2B Travel and Corporate Travel, AP/AR payments, and Small Business (SMB).

The Director, Global SMB Benefits, plays a central role in developing Visa’s small business benefits proposition.  Each benefit represents an important component to Visa’s global SMB strategy, culminating in a winning proposition that makes Visa the best way to pay and be paid.

The Director role is responsible for managing the curation, marketing, enrollment programs, budget and reporting for all global SMB benefits.  In addition to global benefits, providing key insights into regional specific benefits and designing solutions that wrap regional and global benefit enrollment/management solutions is critical. This role will partner with the broader Visa benefits organization, regional stakeholders including product & sales leads, benefit vendors/providers, finance, accounting and more to run our global benefits organization as a business unit within the Visa Commercial Solutions Small Business product team.

The ideal candidate is an experienced product leader with the ability to influence in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  He/she must have proven experience in building and commercializing innovative products that deliver substantial value propositions to the market. This role requires strategic leadership, innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.  He/she is creative and hands-on, has a bias towards action and is able to inspire others with his/her vision.

Responsibilities:

Product Development and Management:

  • Develop the foundational narrative and value propositions for each benefit & the benefit portfolio deployed in each region
  • Partner with the regions to identify, package and commercialize the most attractive benefit packages
  • Establish and run a centrally-managed product development and governance structure for Visa Global Benefits in collaboration with the regional SMB product leads.
  • Define the roadmap for Visa SMB Benefits and oversee the planning, prioritization and execution of the roadmap in collaboration with cross-functional partners
  • Partner with VCS global and regional colleagues to define and prioritize needed benefit enrollment/management features and capabilities
  • Ensure the product development roadmap is aligned to the overall Visa 2030 product strategy and is well-articulated to customers, partners, and internally within Visa
  • Establish and standardize processes to ensure a simplified sales, implementation and onboarding model to support scale, in collaboration with each regional product/sales lead.
  • Develop training materials and technical guides for each benefit/region
  • Support development of sales and GTM documentation
  • Educate and empower regional teams to drive client adoption and market penetration
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the portfolio of Visa Global SMB Benefits, both internally and externally with Visa clients
  • Develop KPIs and monitor performance for each benefit and regional benefit portfolios
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and enable flawless execution

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
MBA or Advanced Degree is desirable
Deep product management experience within commercial/B2B payments & Small Business software (including agentic capabilities and advanced small business software providers)
Prior experience with product incentives or card products is a plus
Experience developing thoughtful narratives to drive the value proposition of each benefit thru to adoption
Ability to own and manage a dynamic budget across multiple stakeholders in multiple regions
Experienced product leader with a record of accomplishment for creating and developing new product capabilities from initial concept to industry leadership
Proven track record of developing and executing a product vision for successful products based on a deep understanding of customer needs
Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new opportunities to innovate and differentiate with evidence of tangible business results
Experience managing and developing strong partnerships across cross-functional teams within matrixed organizations to influence and create roadmaps
Excellent ability to develop and communicate strategy, and secure internal investment for products
Natural collaborator, with excellent communication skills and strong executive presence
Self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and competence to influence across multiple levels and organizations including internal and external stakeholders

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300.00 to 278,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
