Skills
- Proven software architecture and backend service design experience
- Hands-on development experience in Go, Java, or C++ (Go highly preferred)
- Experience building and operating scalable cloud and on-premise systems (AWS/GCP and air-gapped)
- Strong familiarity with APIs and SDKs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, websockets)
- Experience with NoSQL and/or relational databases and caching (e.g., ElastiCache)
- Experience contributing to or managing open-source projects
- Experience with Agile, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a cross-functional engineering team, owning delivery, code quality, and professional development.
- Drive architecture and design for highly available, scalable backend services and integrations.
- Participate in hands-on development, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Sales to rapidly prototype and ship new capabilities.
- Ensure best practices for testing, CI/CD, and DevOps for cloud and air-gapped/on-premise deployments.
- Contribute to and coordinate team involvement with the OpenTDF open-source project.
- Scope work, unblock engineers, and manage sprint planning and Agile ceremonies.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree preferred but not required
