- Experience with IV fluids, CRIs, blood transfusions, and anesthesia monitoring

- Familiarity with point-of-care diagnostics, imaging, and basic ultrasonography
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and basic computer software
- Strong written and verbal communication with team members and clients
- Ability to stand for long periods, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg unaided (assist to 40 kg)
Responsibilities
- Perform basic to advanced nursing care, patient monitoring, and treatments for emergency and inpatient cases
- Triage incoming patients and perform accurate patient assessments
- Administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications and monitor for adverse effects
- Set up, monitor, and manage intravenous fluid therapy, CRIs, and blood transfusions
- Provide anesthesia monitoring and support, including mechanical ventilation when required
- Perform advanced vascular access (jugular, central line, intraosseous, arterial) and diagnostic sampling
- Collect samples and run point-of-care diagnostics and imaging; assist with ultrasonography and paracentesis
- Participate in patient rounds and coordinate continuity of care with the veterinary team
- Perform and be trained in CPR as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer; maintain lifesaving protocols
- Coach and guide veterinary assistants and other technicians; support training and development
- Document patient care in the electronic medical record and communicate with clients professionally
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in Massachusetts required
- Associate's or Bachelor's in Veterinary Technology preferred but not required
