Staff Site Reliability Engineer
Skills
- 8+ years in Software Engineering or SRE with technical leadership experience
- Proven experience building distributed systems on public cloud (Azure preferred)
- Proficiency in programming (e.g., Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#)
- Hands-on observability experience (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Expertise with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Pulumi) and Kubernetes
- Strong incident response, postmortem, and operational runbook skills
- Excellent cross-geography communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience defining and operating SLIs, SLOs, and error budget processes
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical authority and mentor senior SRE engineers; guide design choices to improve reliability and resilience
- Define, enforce, and drive adoption of SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets across engineering teams
- Collaborate with Staff peers and product teams to align reliability strategy and champion shared standards
- Drive observability best practices and tooling adoption (metrics, logs, traces) to deliver actionable insights
- Lead complex incident responses, postmortems, and implement systemic reliability improvements
- Lead infrastructure as code, deployment automation, resilience testing, and release validation efforts
- Promote chaos engineering practices and partner with platform and security teams for production readiness
- Represent SRE in technical leadership forums and product planning; influence long-term architecture
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) or relevant certifications are a plus
