General Notes:

  • Moody College of Communication is dedicated to the success of all undergraduate students. Find academic, financial, career and university-wide resources below to guide you on your undergraduate journey. This is a 10-15 hour position offering student support services at the Office of Undergraduate Education in the Moody College of Communication.

Purpose:

  • We are seeking candidates who are eager to help a virtual/in-person advising office to operate efficiently and achieve its mission. Students with prior experience working in a professional office environment are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all who visit or call the Moody College Student Advising Office and serve as the first point of contact

  • Assist students and guests who visit our office by doing such things as answering their questions, directing them to someone who can assist them, checking them in for and scheduling advising appointments, providing them with links to online forms, directing them to helpful information or walking them through the steps to accomplish things like dropping a class

  • Work with electronic student document filing system

  • Run errands, assemble informational folders and mailings and assist the student deans and front office staff with other administrative tasks as directed

Required Qualifications:

  • Current student at UT Austin

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • Reliable and punctual work ethic

  • Own a computer that can function well in a Zoom environment and has a strong and reliable internet connection

  • Student in Moody College

Salary Range:

  • $12/hour
