POSITION SUMMARY: The Anesthesia Operations Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and strengthening the operational and strategic partnerships across 11 and growing Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) sites within US Anesthesia Partners (USAP) Florida. This role is central to aligning the interests of USAP, anesthesiologist partners, ASC administrators, and surgeon stakeholders in jointly owned facilities. By ensuring seamless operations, adequate staffing, and proactive relationship management, the Anesthesia Operations Manager drives efficiency, quality, and growth across the ASC platform. They will work collaboratively with Anesthesiologist Partners, ASC Administrators, hospital system executives, and surgeon partners while also serving as the operational liaison with internal USAP teams in recruitment, credentialing, and onboarding. The role requires significant on-site presence and relationship-building (up to 50% travel) to ensure exceptional service delivery and long-term partnership success.

Relationship Management

  • Serves as the primary liaison between USAP and ASC Administrators, surgeon partners, and hospital system representatives.
  • Fosters strong, professional, and collaborative relationships with ASC leadership to promote partnership, transparency, and mutual trust.
  • Partners closely with anesthesiologist owners and physician leaders to align goals, resolve issues, and maintain a unified strategy across all ASC sites.

Operational Leadership

  • Oversees daily anesthesia operations across 11+ ASC locations, with an emphasis on efficiency, clinical excellence, and patient satisfaction.
  • Supports and improves critical operational metrics such as OR start times, turnover times, concurrency, and site-of-service utilization.
  • Provides regular operational and financial analytics, performance reviews, and strategic feedback to ASC partners and USAP leadership.
  • Leads onboarding and operational integration of new ASC sites, including coordinating internal support teams (HR, credentialing, compliance, IT, finance).

Staffing & Workforce Planning

  • Ensures anesthesia coverage and continuity of services by working proactively with recruitment, credentialing, and onboarding teams.
  • Partners with medical directors to forecast staffing needs based on site growth, surgeon additions, and evolving ASC schedules.
  • Monitors workforce deployment to maintain appropriate coverage and reduce staffing inefficiencies.

 Strategic Growth & Performance

  • Evaluates site performance and recommends operational improvements to maximize efficiency, patient satisfaction, and partnership value.
  • Develops and tracks KPIs across sites (efficiency metrics, patient satisfaction scores, financial performance, etc.).
  • Supports new business development, site expansion, and strategic initiatives by preparing proformas, staffing models, and integration playbooks.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Provides executive-level updates and recommendations to USAP Florida leadership.
  • Collaborates with finance and clinical governance teams to ensure compliance with Fair Market Value (FMV), the building of proformas, quality initiatives, and contractual obligations.
  • Facilitates quarterly business reviews with ASC partners and internal USAP leadership to maintain alignment and transparency.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

 

• Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent 3-5 years’ experience.• 1-3 years of hospital-based healthcare experience.• Experience with managing clinical scheduling. • 1 year of people management experience preferred. • Excellent communication skills• Strong organizational skills• Skill in gathering and reporting information.• Multi-tasking skills with ability to manage a variety of projects.• Ability to maintain confidentiality.• Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians and external customers.
