Roofing Field Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Field Supervisor to oversee daily roofing operations on active projects at our client site in Los Angeles. This role requires a strong understanding of Division of the State Architect (DSA) requirements, ensuring all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. The supervisor will coordinate field crews, monitor progress and quality, manage subcontractors, and maintain clear communication with project managers, inspectors, and client representatives. Prior experience working on DSA-governed public school projects is essential, along with the ability to lead field operations in an occupied and safety-sensitive environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that construction projects meet clients’ requirements. 
  • Check the accuracy of construction drawings in comparison to existing field conditions. 
  • Assist Project Manager in preparing budget estimates and constructability time schedules. 
  • Support construction including project data review (contractor submittal) for compliance with specifications, coordination of approval of shop drawing designs and substitutions submitted by contractor. 
  • Responsible for project commissioning including observation of final testing of all systems. 
  • Provide project support, including transmittal records as required, of all closeout material that has been approved for acceptance. 
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the project schedule, scope, and cost. 
  • Value Engineer the project by identifying opportunities for savings and ensuring material substitutions are equal. 
  • Communicate with and manage project stakeholders. 
  • Prepare Project Management plan and fee budget/proposal at the project outset. 
  • Evaluate documents and communicate the client’s specific goals and expectations to all project team members. 
  • Develop and communicate action plans that will lead the project team throughout the project, beginning with the initial Project Management Plan. 
  • Re-evaluate the contract scope of work as the project progresses against the goals, expectations, and the needs of the client, and recommend adjustments as necessary. 
  • Coordinate with cost management group as applicable for preparation of cost estimates, cost studies, actual job cost reviews, and budget reconciliation. 
  • Organize and maintain framework for project team processes and record keeping of electronic and physical documents. 
  • Drive the permitting process by designing team documents to be submitted to various local, state, and federal agencies and ensure the applicable permits are moving through the process efficiently. 
  • Ensure the project design management continues to follow the client project documents such as budget, scope, schedule, and client's design standards. 
  • Prepare cost and revenue projections.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Experience reviewing construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of budget estimates and constructability time schedules.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management

Experience: Seven years of progressive experience in the field or in a related area

Preferred Certification: Six or more years of professional experience; experience working with on-site construction management teams as well as with campus administrators, faculty, and staff.

The salary range for this full-time role is $95,000.00-$126,666.68 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
