Udacity’s Content Team is looking for a Technical Content Developer to develop hands-on learning experiences focused on our learners. You’ll create professional learning paths aimed at technical upskilling and provide instructional design leadership through the course development process. As a content developer focused on cloud computing, you will bring your own technical expertise and knowledge of industry trends to bear on the training programs that Udacity develops for our catalog.
● Deep hands-on expertise in multiple modern programming languages, including at least one high-level compiled language such as Java, C++, or C#.
● Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, design patterns, test-driven development (TDD), and version control with Git
● Proficiency in building, testing, and deploying applications using modern software development workflows and tools (e.g., GitHub, CI/CD pipelines)
● Familiarity with full-stack development, including front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Flask, Express)
● Working knowledge of databases and data modeling (SQL and NoSQL), RESTful APIs, and authentication/authorization concepts
● Exposure to cloud-native application development practices (e.g., microservices, containerization using Docker)
● Awareness of industry trends such as generative AI tooling, edge computing, and low- code platforms
● Ability to translate complex software development topics into structured, learner-focused content, including real-world projects and interactive labs
● Engagement with the software engineering community through open-source contributions, technical blogs, meetups, or conferences is a plus
Other Required Knowledge, Experience, and Abilities:
● 2+ years experience in teaching and/or curriculum development
● 2+ years of industry experience in a software engineering or development role, such as Software Engineer, Full-Stack Developer, Application Developer, Front-End Engineer, or Backend Developer
● Experience using version control tools like Git
● Excellent English verbal, written, and copy-editing skills
● A can-do attitude and a growth mindset

● Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, managing different priorities and personalities to reach common goals
● Ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple assignments each week
● Understanding of online learning and experience developing asynchronous online course content
● Demonstrated history of learning and applying new technical skills
