Job Summary
Responsibilities
Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Facilitates and promotes a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.
Develops laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage, analyze and make recommendations on complex data sets for research.
Creates first drafts for scientific writing and publications, including protocols and grants.
Trains and mentors laboratory personnel.
Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Advanced knowledge and skills in molecular biology and genetics, especially CRISPR/Cas9 mediated mutagenesis of genomic sequence.
Advanced proficiency in Drosophila genetics and molecular biology.
Licenses and Certifications:
A publication record that demonstrates a strong track record of research contributions in the broad areas of development, evolution and molecular genetics.
Preferred Competencies
Ability to read papers critically, keep abreast of technical development in the field, and apply ideas from scientific literature to the design of new experiments.
Ability to design, implement, troubleshoot and interpret experiments with highest level of independence.
Working Conditions
Lab environment.
Weekend/Evening hours: experiments may require working outside of normal business hours.
