- Comfort with local travel and safe transport of biological samples
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood and urine specimens for clinical trials according to protocol
- Process, package, label, and prepare specimens for shipment, including coordinating dry ice and courier pick-ups
- Provide clear, calm, and empathetic communication to pediatric participants and caregivers during collections
- Perform supporting tasks as assigned (ECGs, vital signs, basic assessments) to assist the research team
- Maintain secure, accurate data entry and specimen documentation to ensure research integrity
- Organize and maintain study materials, ensuring supplies are stocked and equipment is maintained
- Travel locally within the community to facilitate participant accessibility and specimen collection
- Transport samples to local couriers or drop-off locations as required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active California Phlebotomy License or certification
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program or equivalent training
