Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent combination of education and experience
At least three years experience managing custodial and maintenance staff in a university or public sector setting
Familiarity of OSHA safety standards and preventive maintenance best practices
Familiarity with tools and equipment used in parking lot maintenance, signage, and custodial work
Experience in parking lot and parking garage maintenance. (e.g., crack sealing, sealcoating, striping, layout)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to supervise and coordinate custodial and maintenance teams, including scheduling, task assignment, and quality inspections
Serves as the primary operational contact in the Assistant Director’s absence; effectively communicates with staff, vendors, contractors, and other campus departments
Knowledge of university safety standards and ability to ensure compliance across all activities
Skilled in onboarding, mentoring, and providing performance feedback to team members
Ability to monitor and track preventive maintenance schedules and assist with planning and executing maintenance projects (e.g., lot restriping, pressure washing, sealcoating, and repairs)
Collaborates with supervisors to allocate resources efficiently based on operational needs and priorities
Provides input on departmental budget needs, materials, and equipment requests.
Capable of addressing operational challenges proactively and implementing effective solutions
Promotes a safe, clean, and functional parking environment for students, staff, and visitors
