SUMMARY:

The Senior Product Manager – Prepared Foods Ham - is responsible for the management of all business activities for the Ham BU.  This role manages the P&L to meet Annual Operating Plan objectives and leads Strategic Planning process for the business segment. This role develops and/or collaborates on long and short-term strategies, sustaining innovation, and sales programs that will achieve volume, profit, and share objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

• Own the P&L for the Ham category, including developing and executing business plans, pricing and/or cost savings strategies to deliver against category volume, profit, and share objectives. 
• Plan and execute the Holiday seasonal bookings
• Manage budget and MAP spending for the Retail categories.
• Own the monthly volume forecast for assigned categories, coordinating between demand and supply planning to deliver best-in-class forecast accuracy. 
• Work collaboratively with Insights, Sensory, R&D, Customer Planning & Development, Sales Strategy & Planning, and the Business Unit to identify new ideas, build research and development plans, screen ideas and optimize our innovation offerings to meet consumer/operator needs and have a clear point of differentiation vs. competition.
• Lead development and execution of product and packaging innovation projects including concept development, feasibility validation, product and packaging, R&D, business proposal and approval, project execution, customer sell-in and tracking of in-market performance.
• Collaborate with sales to understand and integrate customer strategies into the innovation pipeline. Proactively work with these partners to on innovation forecast accuracy, maximization of opportunities and development of plans to deliver against JBP objectives.
• Own the brand strategy and marketing plan and execution; proactively develop campaign draft communication and provide to Sales Strategy & Planning for integration into sales communication plans; independent agency project relationship management.
• Monitor performance measurements to ensure sales volume and profit objectives are accomplished - recommend and implement corrective actions. 
• Act as liaison with all other corporate functions to ensure business initiatives receive necessary focus.
• Seek opportunities for personal development and proactively identify ways to add value to Business Unit teams. 
• Identify opportunities for Team Members and provide training and mentorship as needed to ensure the development of talent and capabilities for successful performance and career growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.  
• Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in Product/Brand Management, or equivalent experience
• Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of P&Ls.
  • Proven track record in managing and meeting volume and profit targets. 
  • Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking with a consumer and operator lens.
  • Strong collaborator with a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. 

Location: This role will sit at Tyson's Corporate office in Springdale, AR. Remote/hybrid work is not available.
