About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Cathedral City, CA!

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Cathedral City, CA!
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, after 4pm
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Ideal Candidate:

• Background in special education, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience working with students with autism and behavioral challenges.
• Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to design engaging, differentiated instruction.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Patience, creativity, and a student-centered mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one academic support, particularly in foundational math concepts such as multiplication, fractions, and decimals.
• Implement creative and hands-on writing activities to encourage participation and make writing more accessible and enjoyable.
• Use behavior intervention strategies to help the student remain engaged and regulated during learning activities.
• Monitor and respond to signs of frustration or escalation, including classroom elopement and verbal outbursts.
• Use the student’s preferred reinforcers (e.g., tablet games) as motivational tools for task completion and positive behavior.
• Collaborate with the student’s teacher(s) and support team to ensure consistency in approach and communication.
