Mandarin Tutor - High School Language Support

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Los Angeles, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA
  • Schedule: 20 hours per month (schedule TBD), prefers after 4:30pm PST
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Ideal Candidate:

  • Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin.
  • Experience teaching Mandarin as a second language, preferably to high school students.
  • Strong understanding of Mandarin pronunciation, tones, grammar, and character writing.
  • Patience, cultural competence, and the ability to make lessons engaging and relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured lessons that include vocabulary building, grammar explanations, and real-life language applications.
  • Support language acquisition in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to reinforce classroom learning.
  • Use patient, culturally informed teaching methods to engage the student and build confidence.
  • Create lesson plans tailored to the student’s current skill level and course requirements.
  • Provide conversational practice to enhance speaking and listening fluency.
