Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Production Control Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated 2nd Shift Analyst – North America Parts Ordering.
The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain standard inventory for North American parts to support production of manufacturing lines at TMMK.
Reporting to the Manager PC North America Parts Ordering, the person in this role will support the Production Control department's objective to provide just-in-time delivery of the correct quantity of components required to produce vehicles to meet the sales demand.
Additionally, the person in this role will support coverage for multiple supply chain groups on 2nd shift to minimize Over-time (OT) requirements from Production Control (PC) process owners. (North American Parts Management (NPM), External Logistics (Ext Log), Overseas Ordering, Change Point Management System (CPMS), Packaging, Powertrain (PWT)).
What you’ll be doing:
Maintain parts inventory by utilizing Server E Kanban System and Overseas part management systems and supporting systems as circumstances dictate
Responsive analysis of all abnormal conditions in the supply chain from North American parts Suppliers to TMMK install point (including near site sequence suppliers)
Part investigation using Toyota Production System (TPS) concept - genchi genbutsu – on the shop floor utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (walking required up to 50%)
Provide clear and timely communication and coordination with suppliers for: management of crisis situations minimizing impact to production (including near site sequence suppliers) and ensuring timely expedite shipping to meet need times
Partner with External & Internal Logistics groups to reduce internal part shortages & overflow
Request, award & monitor recovery of abnormal conditions that occur in the supply chain (including near-site sequence suppliers)
What you bring:
A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business Management, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience (1-2+ years of experience)
Experience coordinating, presenting, or leading decision-making meetings
Experience and basic understanding of Toyota Way principles including Toyota Production System (TPS) Problem Solving, Hoshin, On-the-Job Development (OJD), Jidoka, Just-In-Time (JIT), etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Added bonus if you have:
Parts Ordering and/or External/ Internal logistics and Supply Chain experience
Experience in data analysis and visualization
Functional project management skills in a large-scale manufacturing environment
Developing project strategies, problem-solving and countermeasures
Bilingual – Spanish fluency
