Vertical Platforms Manager - job 1 of 2

The Democratic National Committee is looking for a talented and creative TikTok expert to create high-performing videos for the platform and manage the @TheDemocrats TikTok account. The individual hired for this position will be responsible for defining the DNC’s TikTok strategy and growing DNC accounts and may also contribute content to Instagram and YouTube Shorts.

• Create multiple, high-performing videos each week for TikTok
• Constantly track performance data and share learnings with the digital team
• Independently oversee the production of videos from initial idea to publishing
• Keep up with platform trends and constantly come up with new, high-potential ideas
• Work with members of the video and social team to brainstorm new concepts, create a release schedule, and establish benchmarks for success
• Pitching, directing, and editing videos for Democratic elected officials
• Cover events, such as rallies and town halls
• Film explainers and breaking news react videos for DNC Tiktok
• Film selfie-style content and explainer videos
• Establish effective ways to use footage from live streams, press conferences, and events, as well as news coverage, to create high-performing videos
• Significantly grow the DNC’s TikTok accounts

• Chronically online TikTok user
• Significant experience creating successful videos for TikTok
• Proficiency in mobile-first editing applications, such as CapCut and Kapwing
• Deep knowledge of platform trends and viral formats
• Experience staffing/directing principals, elected officials, and on-camera talent
• Experience creating effective strategies for growing a TikTok account
• Experience effectively directing on-camera talent
• Comfortable being on camera and featured on the account
• The ability to work quickly and efficiently in high-pressure situations
• The ability to collaborate respectfully and effectively with others
• The desire to create informative and persuasive videos that inspire viewers to support Democratic candidates and causes

The starting salary for the Vertical Platforms Manager position is $68,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends.  This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
