Position Overview
CARIAN is seeking a Project Manager – Energy Efficiency to support a major clean energy initiative for our client in Newark, NJ. This role will help bring structure, coordination, and project discipline to a highly visible program focused on advancing customer-centric clean energy and efficiency outcomes.
The Project Manager will oversee activities such as advocacy support, customer storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and schedule management. The position emphasizes communication and coordination rather than financial oversight and is ideal for a project leader who excels at managing diverse stakeholders and driving progress in a policy-driven environment.
Clean energy experience is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Support the client’s program team in the planning, design, and delivery of energy efficiency and clean energy programs.
Coordinate cross-functional activities, including documentation, schedule tracking, and stakeholder communications.
Lead internal and external meetings, manage follow-ups, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Monitor project milestones and assist with internal and external reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve workflow, documentation, and stakeholder engagement processes.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and client partners to ensure alignment and accountability.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
7+ years of experience managing projects or programs within utilities, energy efficiency, or related industries.
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills; proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience working in policy-oriented, stakeholder-driven environments preferred.
PMP certification a plus.

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $115,000 – $145,000 annually, based on a full-time equivalent schedule. This range represents a good-faith estimate at the time of posting; actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base salary, the role includes eligibility for bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and a company 401(k) match.
