The Opportunity:

We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead our flagship Joe’s on Newbury location. The ideal candidate is an experienced restaurant leader who can seamlessly balance floor presence, team mentorship, and operational execution. This is an opportunity to help steer one of Boston’s most recognizable restaurants and contribute meaningfully to the guest experience and team culture.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily FOH operations and partner with the General Manager to uphold service and performance standards
  • Coach and develop front-of-house staff with a focus on consistency, hospitality, and professionalism
  • Oversee scheduling, inventory, and labor management to ensure operational efficiency
  • Lead pre-shift meetings, manage service flow, and ensure guest satisfaction through active floor presence
  • Partner with culinary leadership to align food quality and guest engagement
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews
  • Drive initiatives that enhance the guest experience, foster staff engagement, and support financial performance

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–3+ years of experience as an AGM or FOH Manager in a high-volume, full-service or upscale casual restaurant
  • Strong leadership presence and the ability to lead by example in a hands-on environment
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in POS systems, labor management tools, and restaurant financials
  • A guest-first mindset with a passion for creating welcoming and memorable dining experiences
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
