About the Forward-Deployed Engineering Team

The Forward Deployed Engineering team at Tabs focuses on rapidly proving out new integrations, features, and workflows for our most complex and ambiguous revenue operations customers. We don't build the core product - instead, we work ahead of the roadmap to deliver functional MVPs and prototypes that demonstrate what's possible for high-value or hard-to-solve customer problems.

Our goal is speed, impact, and reducing complexity. We deliver high-leverage solutions that unblock users quickly, validate new ideas, and pave the way for long-term, scalable solutions for the core product and engineering teams. We work across the stack - from data pipelines and billing engines to frontend tooling - always with an eye toward velocity and value.

About the Role

We're looking for a highly technical, product-minded Full Stack Engineer to join the Forward-Deployed Engineer team and help us move quickly on high-impact initiatives. You’ll own MVPs and proof-of-concept projects end-to-end - from designing APIs and backend services to building internal tools or lightweight frontend interfaces. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys creative problem-solving, and wants to work directly with stakeholders to ship fast and deliver valuable outcomes to customers.

As a forward-deployed engineer, you’d be embedded close to the business, empowered to move fast, solve problems, and ship value.

Responsibilities

1. Build full-stack systems using TypeScript or Python across our frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.

2. Own projects from spec to launch, collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Ops Solutions, and Implementation teams.

3. Work directly with users and stakeholders to identify pain points and rapidly deliver impactful solutions.

4. Unblock yourself through independent discovery - whether through docs, code, or conversation.

5. Raise the bar on engineering quality, maintainability, and velocity through thoughtful design and code reviews.

Requirements

• Proficiency in TypeScript or Python, with experience across the stack.

• Hands-on experience with frontend development, backend services, and DevOps workflows.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a proven track record of shipping.

• Experience building and owning production systems end-to-end.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.

• Excellent communicator in remote and cross-functional contexts.

Nice to Have

• Advanced skills in Google Sheets or Excel - array formulas, automation, query logic, etc.

• Experience as a technical founder or early engineer at a startup.

• Background in finance, accounting, or B2B operations tooling.

• Experience leading teams and mentoring other engineers.
