Retirement Plan Administrator, (PCI)

Strongpoint Partners is a tech-enabled retirement services platform supporting small- to mid-sized businesses through integrated administration, recordkeeping, payroll, and HR solutions. Pension Consultants, Inc. (PCI), a Strongpoint operating partner based in Farmington, CT, is hiring an experienced defined contribution (DC) ERISA Plan Administrator to manage a full caseload, ensure regulatory compliance, perform testing and filings, reconcile assets, and communicate effectively with clients.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and retirement plan compliance/testing
  • Experience with ADP/ACP and other nondiscrimination and compliance testing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with trust accounting and asset reconciliation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interactions
  • Strong organizational, project management, and detail-oriented abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fully remote environment

Responsibilities

  • Administer full-cycle operations for a caseload of ~65–75 401(k) and cross-tested retirement plans
  • Perform compliance testing (ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy, 401(a)(4)) and interpret plan documents
  • Coordinate year-end valuations and process participant transactions (loans, hardships, distributions)
  • Prepare and file IRS/government forms including Form 5500, 8955, and 5330
  • Reconcile plan assets, complete trust accounting tasks, and manage census/participant data imports
  • Recommend and evaluate plan design changes to maintain compliance and client satisfaction
  • Communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders regarding plan administration issues
  • Leverage internal systems and technology to streamline processes and improve accuracy

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
  • ASPPA credentials strongly preferred or in progress
  • Relevant on-the-job training or certifications in retirement plan administration preferred
