Skills
- Understanding of electronics manufacturing and PCB assembly processes
- Experience with supplier quality tools (PPAP, APQP, FAI)
- Statistical analysis and DOE / Six Sigma familiarity
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO9000 / AS9100 / NADCAP)
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel 25-50% and willingness to work extended hours when required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet ITAR eligibility requirements
Responsibilities
- Own process development for electronic assemblies, battery cells/packs, and subsystems to meet program volume and quality targets
- Review and assess supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems to match supplier capabilities with sourcing strategy
- Create and flow down supplier technical requirements; implement and monitor PPAP and other production approvals
- Define and approve process controls for critical features and recommend product/process improvements to reduce risk
- Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective action plans
- Act as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues
- Lead supplier improvement projects focused on cycle-time reduction, cost reduction, and yield improvement
- Provide technical feedback to suppliers to eliminate costs, reduce cycle times, and increase yields
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Relevant coursework or internships in manufacturing, quality, or supply chain (beneficial)
