Sr. Supplier Development Engineer (Starshield)
Skills
- Experience with PCBA manufacturing, SMT processes, and microelectronics packaging
- Knowledge of supplier quality methods (PPAP, APQP, FAI)
- Familiarity with quality systems and aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP)
- Statistical and problem-solving skills (DOE, Six Sigma)
- Experience with failure analysis tools (X-ray, cross-sectioning)
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel up to 25–60% as required
Responsibilities
- Own and manage PCBA processes and products across the Starshield supply chain
- Ensure continuity of supply for electronic products to meet program volume targets
- Collaborate with design engineers to understand part and assembly design intent
- Define supplier technical requirements and flow downs for hardware manufacturing
- Implement and monitor PPAP and other supplier qualification activities
- Develop and approve process controls for critical characteristics
- Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics and drive corrective action plans
- Provide technical support and act as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
- Lead supplier improvement projects to reduce cycle time, cost, and scrap
- Support failure analysis and recommend product/process improvements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, materials, hardware engineering, engineering physics, or related engineering discipline
