- PLC programming (preferably Beckhoff TwinCAT / structured text)
- Safety PLCs and machine safety logic (ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA)
- HMI / SCADA / IoT (MQTT, OPC-UA) and machine health monitoring
- Fieldbus protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP) and serial/Ethernet comms
- Robotics integration and programming (preferably ABB)
- Electrical schematic and panel design (EPLAN preferred), NEC/NFPA/UL508A knowledge
- Motion systems design and motor / VFD sizing
- Hands-on electrical troubleshooting with multimeter/oscilloscope experience
- Machine design for manufacturability and CAD/PLM experience (Siemens NX, Teamcenter preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage full automation projects from ideation through commissioning and operational hand-off
- Architect, write, and debug organized, maintainable PLC code for high-volume manufacturing
- Implement ANSI/RIA/OSHA-compliant robot and machinery safety systems
- Create clear, user-friendly HMI screens and machine health monitoring interfaces
- Design electrical control systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A
- Size and specify motion systems, motors, drives, and associated electrical protection
- Troubleshoot and commission electro-mechanical systems on the production floor
- Maintain project schedules and budgets and lead cross-functional teams to meet milestones
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science
- Relevant coursework or experience in controls, mechatronics, electrical systems, or mechanical design
