- Proficient in C++, Python, or Rust for systems-level development
- Experience with real-time embedded or distributed computing systems
- Strong debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing capabilities
- Good understanding of computer architecture and networking
- Familiarity with simulation and validation workflows
- Basic knowledge of electronics, controls, motor design, fluid systems, or physical mechanics is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and validate highly reliable autonomous flight software and supporting simulations
- Own software lifecycle tasks including design, testing, integration, and mission verification
- Collaborate with cross-functional software and hardware teams to implement launch, vehicle, pad, and booster control
- Define and lead impactful engineering projects that advance Starship mission objectives
- Drive continuous improvement of software standards and engineering best practices within the team
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science OR equivalent professional experience
- 6+ years software development experience if no bachelor's degree
- ITAR eligibility (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) required
