Skills
- Expertise configuring and managing enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Juniper)
- Hands-on experience with IDS/IPS, VPNs (IPSec, TLS) and network ACLs
- Familiarity with network protocols and OSI model
- Experience applying patches and maintaining security systems in production
- Strong written and verbal communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work extended hours and pass required background checks
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain network security tools and firewall configurations for enterprise environments
- Act as subject matter expert on firewall technologies, IDS/IPS, VPNs and industry best practices
- Analyze operational security challenges and design creative, secure network solutions
- Perform system maintenance, patching, and periodic updates on network security systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define functional needs and communicate security policies
- Build threat models and perform risk assessments for proposed network architectures
- Test and implement changes in production with minimal operational disruption
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred
