Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (Avionics)
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering
- 5+ years electronics hardware design experience
- 5+ years using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators)
- Analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design
- Schematic capture and PCB layout experience (Altium, KiCad, Eagle)
- Familiarity with electrical simulation tools (LTspice, SIMetrix, similar)
- Knowledge of digital comms (SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, RS422)
- DFX, derating, root cause analysis, and reliability-focused design practices
- Strong documentation, organization, and cross-functional communication skills
Responsibilities
- Design new avionics hardware and modify existing PCBAs to improve reliability and manufacturability
- Provide end-to-end ownership of avionics hardware across the product life cycle from development through launch
- Drive changes to electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to improve manufacturability and reliability
- Perform root cause investigations and derive engineering justification to resolve production and integration issues
- Design and execute test setups, benchtop and environmental validation, and hardware verification
- Define processes, design circuits/fixtures/tools, and identify opportunities for product and process improvements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (required)
- Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (preferred)
