- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and Lit Web Components
- Experience with WebSockets, gRPC, and networking concepts
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, SVG, Canvas, or WebGL for graphics and visualization
- Ability to design reliable, maintainable systems and follow engineering best practices
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and system integration skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance C++ backend systems for real-time data processing, networking, and interfaces for mission-critical displays.
- Build polished, safe user interfaces using Lit Web Components (JavaScript/TypeScript), HTML, and CSS to reduce operator cognitive load.
- Implement networking and integration using technologies such as WebSockets, gRPC, and real-time messaging.
- Design and deploy scalable infrastructure using containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration.
- Create tooling and practices that reduce software complexity and maintenance across missions.
- Troubleshoot and deliver long-term solutions supporting SpaceX sites where Ops Displays are used.
- Collaborate directly with Operators and cross-disciplinary engineering teams to incorporate feedback and ensure usability and safety.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field OR
- 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree
