Skills
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Xpedition)
- Ability to perform component selection, placement, and signal routing for mixed-signal designs
- Knowledge of DFM, assembly, and test requirements for PCB fabrication
- Experience using electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator) to verify hardware
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and low-noise layout techniques
- Understanding of digital communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, RS-422)
- Strong documentation and collaboration skills for cross-functional design reviews
Responsibilities
- Review and update schematics to support PCB layout and hierarchical designs
- Define layer stackups, select component packages, and perform placement and routing feasibility studies
- Route digital, analog, RF, and power conversion circuits for mixed-signal PCBs
- Produce PCB designs that meet flight hardware requirements for launch vehicles and spacecraft
- Interface with PCB manufacturers and vendors to ensure designs meet DFM and fabrication guidelines
- Create and maintain PCB libraries and fabrication documentation
- Collaborate with mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to validate mechanical constraints, fastener placement, and testability
- Maintain and evaluate PCB design tools and train team members on tool usage
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (required)
- Academic projects, internships, or professional experience in electronics hardware design are accepted
