Hardware Development Engineer, PCBA Manufacturing (Starlink)
Skills
- Experience with manufacturing processes for PCBA/SMT
- Hands-on familiarity with SMT processing and assembly workflows
- Ability to use data (SQL, Python or similar) and statistical methods to drive improvements
- Knowledge of IPC manufacturing standards and PCB design considerations
- Experience with failure analysis methods and tools (e.g., X-ray, cross-section)
- Strong technical writing and training/documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Own and manage PCBA processes and PCBA products for in-house volume production
- Drive manufacturing execution, configuration management, traceability, and nonconforming product workflows
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) of PCBA assemblies in collaboration with design and process teams
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and operator training
- Track schedules, WIP levels, defect rates, and production metrics for owned products
- Analyze trends and implement process improvements to enhance yield, quality, and cost
- Initiate corrective actions and control plans on owned processes and products
Education
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, software, or related engineering discipline
- Relevant coursework or practical experience in PCB/SMT/manufacturing processes
