Acelero, Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Wellness Coordinator to enhance the wellness and resilience of children, families, and staff in Head Start communities. In this role, you will lead engaging wellness initiatives and foster community partnerships to support holistic well-being using trauma-informed strategies.

Your Role:

The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for creating opportunities for Early/Head Start Families and Staff to enhance wellness and resilience in fun and empowering ways. This position works with members of the local community to bring presentations, activities, and resources into Head Start schools. The Wellness Coordinator also creates safe and trauma-informed learning environments by facilitating activities, training, and workshops that help improve the wellbeing of Head Start staff, students, and families. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Provides information to staff about ways to promote wellness with students and families.
  • Collaborates with the Head Start program team to develop wellness strategies.
  • Conducts wellness activities, events, and presentations for students, families, and staff to strengthen the resilience of the Head Start program and community.
  • Meets, secures, and coordinates guest speakers who specialize in different areas of resilience and wellness.
  • Meets with Head Start staff members and families to assess wellness needs. Communicates the wellness needs of Head Start staff, students, and families to the leadership as needed.
  • Completes timely reports as required by the program. Provides appropriate referrals for community-based services as requested.
  • Maintains real time documentation in the data system of staff and family interactions as required by the program.
  • Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required. 
  • Assists with the development of budgets, policies, and procedures for enhancing the wellness of the Head Start Community.
  • Assists in the procurement of funding for wellness initiatives.
  • Assists Family Advocates in conducting wellness checks for students and families, as needed.  

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in social service or human resources field required; master’s degree preferred. 
  • Experience working with children, families, and staff in ethnically diverse communities. 
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
  • Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
