Senior Frontend Engineer (San Francisco)

Join us in a high-impact role where you’ll craft a world-class frontend experiences that powers AI social media workflows for creators. At Scrollmark, we’re building SocialGPT (https://www.gpt.social/), your copilot for social media content creation—helping creators and brands plan, create, and grow with confidence.

We’ve raised $8M in seed funding from top-tier investors including Mayfield and Jackson Square Ventures. As an early-stage startup, we’re looking for a senior React Native engineer who loves thinking about polish, motion, and the tiny details that make interfaces feel alive. You’ll work directly with our CTO and partner across product, design, and backend—owning features end-to-end, from prototype to App Store release. You’ll also set the roadmap and mentor/hire as we scale.

What You’ll Do

• Build the Next-Generation Creator App (React Native): Design and ship fast, intuitive, cross-platform experiences in React Native + TypeScript

• Performance & Usability: Own responsiveness, gesture fidelity, and startup time. Eliminate jank; measure p95/p99 UI latency

• Micro-Interactions & Motion Design: Implement tasteful animations, haptics, and motion primitives that feel purposeful and on-brand. Sweat the curves, durations, and easing.

• Shared Design System & Components: Partner with design to codify tokens (spacing, color, type, motion) and a reusable component library that works across mobile and web. Maintain accessibility and internationalization from day one.

• Integrate Social Workflows: Build creators’ daily flows with thoughtful UX.

• Collaborate & Iterate: Prototype quickly in Figma and code, run tests with creators, and refine based on analytics, crash-free rate, and task success. Champion UX quality without slowing velocity.

• Scale & Ship Reliably: Set up feature flags, OTA updates, and observability.

• Strategize & Lead: Contribute to roadmap, improve our design/dev workflow, establish frontend standards and testing, and mentor teammates as we grow.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ Years Building Production Apps (3+ in React Native): You’ve shipped and maintained real RN apps at meaningful scale, and can point to features you owned end-to-end across iOS/Android (and ideally web).

• Expertise in React Native + TypeScript: Deep knowledge of state management, navigation patterns, RN Web, async/await, performance tuning, and build/release pipelines.

• Eye for Design & Details: You translate Figma mocks into pixel-perfect, accessible UI; you care about typography, spacing, motion, and micro-copy—and know when to add delight vs. stay invisible.

• Product & System Design: Ability to architect scalable frontends (modularization, feature flags, dependency boundaries) while keeping UX simple and fast.

• Self-Starter: You thrive in ambiguity, ship with craft, and connect frontend choices to measurable outcomes.
