Your Role

Are you excited about building innovative automotive software that will be showcased at CES 2027? As a Software Engineering Intern with the ASUX Global Product Organization (GPO) in Troy, MI, you will work within the Cockpit Software Demo team developing cutting-edge web and embedded software features. You’ll gain hands-on experience in software design, networking, and vehicle user experience, contributing to high-profile demos that highlight Aptiv’s audio and sensor technologies.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and implement software features in C, C++, and Python for in-vehicle systems.
• Design interactions between system components and work with TCP/IP networking protocols.
• Collaborate on cloud-based development initiatives to enhance vehicle connectivity.
• Build an ambient lighting feature that changes colors based on music beat and genre, creating an engaging in-vehicle experience.
• Implement a curb clearance warning system using Aptiv’s Pulse sensor to alert drivers with video feedback.
• Develop a health monitoring dashboard with Grafana to track demo vehicle software status and errors.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including audio, perception, and real-time vision groups.

What You’ll Need:

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with software development in C and C++, with Python as a plus.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and embedded systems.
• Interest in vehicle user experience and automotive software systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
