Your Role

Are you passionate about software testing and curious about how advanced vehicles ensure reliability and performance before hitting the road? As a Software Test Engineering Intern with the Advanced Safety and User Experience (ASUX) team in Troy, MI, you’ll be immersed in SWE.6 software-level verification as part of high-impact projects including Ford and STLA programs. You’ll work in a collaborative environment, learning how to simulate, automate, and validate cutting-edge automotive software—paving the way for safer, smarter vehicles.

What You’ll Do:

• Learn and apply test methodologies using a virtual test environment (IPG CarMaker).
• Develop and execute test cases using AI-driven tools and collaborate on automation strategies.
• Work with GIT repositories, implement branch strategies, and contribute to test case libraries.
• Gain hands-on experience in software testing for complex vehicle systems before integration into the vehicle platform.
• Build proficiency in tools and languages such as Python, YAML, C++, Simulink, and more.
• Engage with a network of professionals through team events and open houses, building both skills and industry insight.

What You’ll Need:

• Enrolled in a degree program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Basic programming experience (Python, C++, or similar).
• A keen interest in software validation, automation, and automotive systems.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn advanced testing frameworks and AI-assisted test design.
• Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
