We're seeking an Engineering Manager, Mobile to lead the future of our mobile experiences at Replit. In this role, you'll build and manage a team that bridges design and engineering to create intuitive, performant mobile interfaces that make software creation accessible on any device. You'll guide your team in building production-ready frameworks and patterns that enable high-quality in-product experiences, ensuring users can create apps from their phones or tablets with the same power as desktop.
Build, mentor, and grow a team of mobile design engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and design craftsmanship
Define the technical vision and strategy for mobile design systems, establishing frameworks and patterns that ship to production and scale across iOS, Android, and responsive web
Partner closely with design, product, and engineering leadership to prioritize mobile initiatives and ensure seamless collaboration between design and development teams
Drive best practices for mobile-first development, ensuring your team builds production-grade patterns that deliver consistent, high-quality experiences while optimizing for performance
Oversee the architecture of complex mobile UI components and systems, providing technical guidance and code review to maintain high standards
Champion accessible, responsive interfaces through well-architected frameworks, and establish processes that improve mobile design-to-development workflow
Balance hands-on technical contribution with people management, staying close enough to the code to guide architectural decisions
3+ years of engineering management experience with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams, plus proven experience building production frameworks and component systems that scale across products
Deep technical background with mobile development, including experience with some of the following: mobile-specific web APIs, native mobile development (Swift/Kotlin), React and React Native (or similar cross-platform frameworks), PWAs, mobile design patterns, and complex UI animations and gesture-based interactions
Excellent communication skills to balance technical leadership with people management, including mentoring, performance management, and career development
Active Replit mobile user passionate about accessible software creation, with experience building or leading mobile design or developer tools teams
Interest in AI on mobile devices and contributions to open-source mobile design systems or UI libraries
