Robotics will have a massive positive impact on the world economy and global human productivity over the coming decade. At Foxglove, we're excited for this future, and we're building powerful open source and commercial tools to accelerate it.
We're an experienced team of independent thinkers, with a passion for creating high quality products. We're looking for self-motivated and fast-learning individuals to join our mission.
We’re looking for a Tech Lead Manager (TLM), Robotics Fleet to lead our engineering team building Foxglove’s Fleet Management product. This is a player-coach role, where you'll combine hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, guiding a talented group of engineers tackling complex, real-world robotics challenges.
As TLM, Robotics Fleet, you will oversee the design and development of systems that connect and manage fleets of robots – from low-level, on-device software all the way up to large-scale, cloud-based distributed systems.
You’ll work closely with Product and GTM teams to align engineering efforts with customer needs, helping shape both the roadmap and technical direction to deliver maximum customer value. Your work will ensure the team builds scalable, reliable solutions that power real deployments across the robotics industry.

Contribute directly to design and implementation across backend, frontend, and embedded components
Collaborate with Product and GTM teams to align engineering priorities with customer needs
Define technical direction, architecture, and best practices for scalable, reliable systems
Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and technical excellence
Support career growth and mentorship for team members
Work with customers and partners to understand real-world use cases and translate them into product improvements
Balance short-term delivery with long-term strategic goals for the Fleet product and ensure alignment with other product areas

This role is onsite in our San Francisco office, but we are open to remote for highly experienced candidates with prior experience at a leading robotics or autonomous vehicle company.
Proven experience as a tech lead or engineering manager, ideally in a player-coach capacity
Strong technical background in robotics, autonomous systems, or embedded devices
Experience building and scaling distributed systems or cloud-based platforms
Comfort working across the stack – from low-level systems to cloud infrastructure
Our stack is predominately Rust, Typescript and Postgres
A track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams like Product, Design, and GTM
Strong communication and leadership skills
A pragmatic, customer-focused mindset that balances speed, quality, and impact
Passion for building tools that help robotics teams operate more effectively
Someone who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with a bias for shipping and learning.

Competitive equity grant in a Series A company
Medical, Dental, Vision, and Term Life insurance coverage at 100% for employees and 75% for dependents
401k matching up to 4%
