Skills
- Advanced CAD proficiency (NX preferred) and drawing standards application
- FEA-based structural analysis experience (ANSYS Workbench preferred)
- Hands-on knowledge of tooling, fixtures, material handling, and custom machine components
- Full-cycle project management from concept through commissioning
- Strong familiarity with manufacturing processes (welding, machining, sheet metal, assembly, inspection)
Responsibilities
- Design and develop production and development tooling, fixtures, and custom machines for vehicle and engine programs
- Perform structural design and analysis, create detailed fabrication drawings, and apply ASME Y14.5/GD&T standards
- Manage full project lifecycle: vendor selection, fabrication oversight, inspection, installation, and commissioning
- Collaborate closely with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration teams to optimize safety, cost, quality, and cycle time
- Integrate automation elements and custom machine components (motors, actuators, rails, pneumatics) into tooling solutions
- Troubleshoot and iterate fielded equipment on the factory floor to improve reliability and maintainability
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent degree
