Senior Software Engineer, Vehicle Software Infrastructure Backend
Skills
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience, including systems or infrastructure work
- Strong Python expertise with knowledge of concurrency, performance, and OOP
- Experience with Python testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest)
- REST API design and development experience (e.g., FastAPI, Django REST Framework)
- Experience building and testing software in CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of database concepts and SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite)
- Experience working with Linux-based systems and cloud platforms
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Linux- and cloud-based infrastructure for automated software configuration management
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and repeatability for configuration generation and deployment
- Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services to support toolchains and integration points
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and deployment orchestration
- Collaborate with hardware, avionics, test, and operations teams to ensure integration and field readiness
- Participate in architecture decisions, sprint planning, and roadmap development
- Mentor teammates, share best practices, and contribute to high-quality documentation and diagrams
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree preferred but not required; demonstrable professional experience accepted in lieu of formal education
