Robotics Software Engineer II
Skills
- Experience scripting to extend 3D software (Python, C#, or C++)
- High proficiency with Rhino 3D and Grasshopper
- Practical understanding of CNC fundamentals and multi-axis robotic arms (KUKA preferred)
- Experience developing computational geometry tools and toolpath generation
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative software workflows
- Strong communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration
Responsibilities
- Develop algorithms and software for generating and evaluating complex computational geometries for additive manufacturing
- Create custom tools for producing complex toolpaths and valid multi-axis robot motion
- Collaborate with simulation, welding, and systems engineers to improve workflows between CAD, distortion compensation, and printed outcomes
- Integrate scripting extensions into 3D software packages and support automation of design-to-print pipelines
- Perform feasibility assessments and provide technical feedback on proposed geometries from partners or customers
- Maintain code quality using version control and contribute to a collaborative development environment
- Document solutions, workflows, and test results for cross-functional teams
Education
- BS in Computer Science, Architecture, Computational Design, or a related field (required)
- MS in related field or equivalent experience (preferred)
