got humiliated in an HR interview and still can’t shake it off

went in for an entry-level HR role and the hiring manager decided within 2 mins that i “should stick to sales” based on my past jobs. i tried explaining that HR is where my interest and goals lie, but he wasn’t having it. he kept grilling me with super technical questions, shot down all my answers, and made it feel like a pop quiz i wasn’t allowed to pass.

then he had the audacity to give me a mini lecture on “what real HR work looks like” while scrolling through his phone. i left that room feeling like crap. 😔 honestly just wish i had stood up for myself more.
