Companies saving on IT but not on HR departments?

THIS!! they’d rather burn months on filtering than invest in training.
Every stage is another box ticked for compliance. Doesn’t matter if it kills momentum.
They love to call it “due diligence” but really it’s just dragging their feet.
I’ve had more HR screens than actual interviews this year. feels like busywork.
it’s wild how they’ll protect the process before the ppl actually doing the work.
HR’s the last dept to get cuts bc they’re the ones doing the cuts 💀

I’ve done over 100 HR screens. Most are 30 mins of the same questions I already answered in my resume or application form.
Meanwhile, engineers are being laid off, hiring freezes everywhere, “no budget for training”… but apparently tons of budget for multi-stage interviews that go nowhere?
They’ll spend months looking for “the perfect candidate” instead of hiring someone good and helping them grow into great. What’s the logic?
