Do recruiters value self-employed experience?

I was worried about this too, but turns out interviewers loved hearing how I handled full-stack dev alone.
Self-employed stuff got me my last two jobs. Especially if you explain how you managed clients and deadlines.
depends on the recruiter tbh. some see it as hustle, others see it as “unstructured.” Gotta sell it right.
Running your own thing teaches way more than most 9–5s. Pitch it that way. Add metrics if you can.
I once got hired because I ran my own tutoring biz. Showed initiative and leadership.
They absolutely count it. Just frame it like any other role: list what you built, tools used, client outcomes, etc.

I was running my own academy last year (around 9 months), and then I spent like 6 months doing freelance/local software for some clients. Learned more than I ever did in school lol.
But when I apply for jobs now I’m wondering if recruiters even count self-employed stuff or do they just skim past it? Just don’t wanna waste space on my resume if they don’t take it seriously.
