Pixar Executive Chef, Jen Biesty
At Pixar, everyone in our studio community plays a part in the filmmaking process – even our culinary team!
“Although our hands aren’t part of the cogs that make our movies, we are the fuel… we are that special treat,” says Pixar’s Executive Chef Jen Biesty. “Whether it is our Michelin Star pastry chef’s desserts or the range of special dishes we create for the week, we provide that service to our studio so that they can have the nutritional fuel they need to go back and make fantastic movies. That’s our job. That’s our obligation to the studio.”
Pixar’s Café isn’t your standard company café. They operate more like a high-end Bay Area restaurant – sourcing seasonal ingredients, often working with small local farms. “We have a very high standard of excellence and are a very creative and hard-working group of people,” she says. “What our culinary team can accomplish, in a given day, creating and producing these beautiful, tasty and interesting dishes, I feel extremely proud leading this team.”
