Position Overview & Why Work Here

Panther Life Sciences is pioneering a new class of skin health, beauty, and therapeutic products through our proprietary dissolvable microneedle array patch (MAP) platform. We believe that the skin, as the body’s most accessible and responsive organ, offers a transformative path to better health for all.

We are seeking an Industrial Designer to join our Device Team and help define the look, feel, and experience of Panther’s MAP products, from form and packaging to the digital touchpoints that connect them. This role will be central to shaping the end-to-end user experience of Panther’s commercial products , translating precision into products that are intuitive, safe, and visually striking (“the Iphone of patches”).

The person who will thrive in this role is someone who loves details, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of beautiful, functional, and precise design. You care deeply about the customer, how they first encounter the product, how it feels in their hand, and how seamlessly it fits into their life. You find joy in creating novel experiences that make people feel cared for, and you obsess over quality not because you have to, but because you cannot imagine doing anything less. You see design as storytelling, every curve, material, and surface reflecting purpose and emotion. For you, work and passion are one and the same.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, product developers, and leadership to bring Panther’s design philosophy to life: clarity, material honesty, and elegance rooted in function and precision. Within your first 90 days, you will define user needs, conduct competitive benchmarking, develop early concepts, and create high-fidelity renderings and prototypes for both internal and external presentations.

This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven company at the intersection of science, technology, and design, where every decision reflects a commitment to impact, quality, and human-centered innovation.

This role will be based in New York City and will require occasional business travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead user-centered design for Panther’s products, packaging, and front-end software interfaces.

  • Create high-fidelity design renderings and prototypes for product development and investor materials.

  • Conduct competitive benchmarking, market research, and user needs analysis to inform design direction.

  • Develop sketches, CAD models, and 3D prints to validate early form, ergonomics, and usability.

  • Translate Panther’s design philosophy into tangible experiences that express both precision and accessibility.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, software, and leadership teams to ensure seamless integration between design intent and manufacturability.

  • Present and iterate on design concepts based on feedback from the CEO and technical team.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of industrial design experience, preferably within consumer electronics, health tech, or medical device design.

  • Exceptional attention to detail in form, aesthetics, and visual composition, with consistently high-quality execution.

  • Proficiency in CAD, rendering, animation, and prototyping tools such as SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, and Blender.

  • Demonstrated ability to take ideas from concept through to commercialization, including rapid iteration and physical prototyping.

  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort incorporating structured feedback from cross-functional teams and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for both consumer and medical contexts, balancing beauty, usability, and credibility across products, packaging, and software.

  • Ability to define and deliver end-to-end user experiences that merge commercial viability with aesthetic and ergonomic excellence.

  • Experience conducting user research and integrating findings into design iterations

  • A strong portfolio that reflects precision, curiosity, and simplicity in form.

  • Personal traits that include: detail orientation, clear communication, collaborative mindset, and openness to direct feedback.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.

Benefits

  • Health Insurance includes Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.

  • Meaningful and valuable Equity (Full-time roles only and varies by country).

  • Unlimited PTO and Paid Company Holidays.

  • Some work travel may be required.

  • In-person events.
