Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging social and recreational activities for elder residents.
- Conduct thorough assessments to tailor activities to individual elder needs.
- Lead monthly Counsel Meetings to support community involvement.
- Maintain supplies and mentor elder assistants in activity facilitation.
- Ensure a variety of activities are accessible to all elders.
- Perform weekly engagement evaluations of individual elders.
- Create personalized activity opportunities for newly admitted elders.
- Complete all related activity reports and MDS documentation accurately.
- Facilitate elder outings, including driving neighborhood bus and van (training provided).
Education
- Post-secondary education preferred, focus on social work, counseling, or geriatrics.
- MEPAP-1 certification required or obtained within designated time.
