The Research Technician 3 will be hired to support day-to-day project logistics on a federally funded five-year project focused on socioecological factors impacting sleep health in toddlers. The Research Senior Technician will assist the project coordinator in the implementation of project activities. They will implement activities to support the day-today progress towards project deliverables. They will participate in all activities in the continuum of the project.
The responsibilities of this position are:
• Assist project coordinator with creation of training protocols for assessment battery.
• Assist in creation and distribution/implementation of family questionnaires.
• Lead the scheduling of parent appointments and child assessments including communicating reminders to participating caregivers as well as scheduling project staff to complete appointments and assessments.
• Conduct caregiver appointments and individual child assessments as scheduled. Assist with collecting, tracking, scanning/entering data, verifying completeness and accuracy of data/materials, cleaning collected data, and archiving processed data. Completes assigned data cleaning tasks according to the timeline while following best practices for data cleaning.
• Use a database tool (Master List) to track information about participating families. Record additional information as collected. Archive information upon completion of project.
• Provide support to investigators and other key project staff for research, reports, presentations, and publications
• Travel to complete child assessments (required travel within 50 miles or less of Columbus). Reimbursement for work-related mileage provided.
• Other duties as assigned.
Possibility of hybrid work within the state of Ohio.
Required Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of desktop computing and Microsoft Office suite products; experience working collaboratively with others. At least two years of relevant experience working in research or with children and families. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for field work. Must be able to fulfill the state requirements to work with children (successful completion of an FBI/BCI background check).
Desired Experience: Knowledgeable of research practices, including experience with human subjects’ projects. Experience in field of early childhood research. Experience working with families and children from diverse backgrounds.
50% Lead the scheduling of parent appointments and child assessments. Schedule project staff to complete assessments. Conduct caregiver appointments and child assessments. Communicate reminders.
30% Assist with collecting, tracking, scanning/entering data, verifying completeness and accuracy of data/materials. Track information about participating families. Completes assigned data cleaning tasks according to the timeline; follows best practices for data cleaning; assists others with data cleaning tasks as needed. Assists in data audits and preparation of reports. Provides support to PIs and other key project staff for research, presentations, and publications. Follows all procedures to archive study data for long term storage; and other duties as assigned.
20% Assist with creation of training protocols, questionnaires, and other data collection tools.
The Target Hiring Range for this position is $19.28/hr - $25.19/hr
