About the Job – Your Role
This position is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and complying with the Department of Corrections 340B Drug Pricing Program as it exists at the Oregon Department of Corrections. “The 340B Drug Pricing Program is a US federal government program created in 1992 that requires drug manufacturers to provide outpatient drugs to eligible health care organizations and covered entities at significantly reduced prices. The intent of the program is to allow covered entities to stretch scarce federal resources as far as possible, reaching more eligible patients and providing more comprehensive services." Maintaining services and lowering medication costs for patients is consistent with the purpose of the program, which is named for the section authorizing it in the Public Health Service Act. It was enacted by Congress as part of a larger bill signed into law by President George H. W. Bush.
This position is also tasked to be the USP800 Specialist and the subject matter expert on the vaccine 317 funds program in association with the ALERTIIS program. USP800 provides standards for safe handling of hazardous drugs to minimize the risk of exposure to healthcare personnel, patients and the environment. Vaccine 317 fund is federal funding for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, of the Public Health Service Act. Vaccine 317 provides a safety net program of grants to states to immunize children, adolescents, and adults who have no insurance. The ALERTIIS program is an Oregon statewide immunization registry.
Management Responsibilities: Specific to the above referenced programs, this position has the authority to determine the service (processes and procedures) and policy to be adopted by the agency. The position will assess the work and provide feedback of other management service employees to health services leadership. The position chairs committees comprised of management service employees.
This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
OR
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
Preference will be given to those candidates with pharmacy technician experience, license, or education.

Working Conditions
Working conditions may include overnight and weekend travel, contact with adults in custody in the institutional setting, making presentations to outside groups. Position requires travel to all Oregon ODOC facilities and conferences/meetings as required.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

About the Process – What to Expect
