Sr Communications Specialist

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Novelis Global Corporate Communications team is seeking a Sr Communications Specialist. The person in this role will report to the Manager, Internal Communications. The ideal candidate will lead the development of content and tactical execution in support of global essential communications plans to further the goals of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Work with internal subject matter experts to mine and craft compelling stories that educate and inform employees on company’s vision, culture/engagement/recognition and functional areas
• Leverage understanding of branding, culture, and business goals to develop messaging content
• Produce internal communication materials, such as presentations, intranet content and global e-mails with a heavy focus on message development and writing
• Work with manager to implement global editorial calendar so that proactive content is prioritized on internal communications channels
• Create new channels and tactics as needed to reach employees with core messaging and establish and maintain engagement
• Manage metric tracking and reporting for Global Corporate Communications
• Assist the Global Corporate Communications team with special initiatives as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
• 5 years of experience in the field of internal communications
• Strong writing, storytelling, and creative skills
• Ability to communicate in a way that creates clarity, simplifies messages, and aligns with organizational strategy
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Fast paced and self-motivated with a proven ability to shift focus quickly in response to company and function needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with intranets, graphic design, video, and internal communications platforms such as Firstup and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
• Experience communicating with remote/non-wired employee audiences
