Skills
- 5+ years of 401(k) plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) testing
- Experience with Form 5500 preparation and electronic filing
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking
- Ability to proactively manage a book of business independently
- High level of critical thinking and problem-solving
- Comfortable working remotely with provided home office equipment
- Willingness to pursue and maintain professional credentials
Responsibilities
- Maintain strong client and advisor relationships to drive high retention
- Manage a caseload of ~90–110 full-service partner-level clients
- Prioritize and manage workload to meet weekly team goals
- Coordinate with TPAs, recordkeepers, and advisors to resolve issues
- Follow AFS policies and documented procedures for plan administration
- Consult clients on plan operation and design questions
- Identify and assist in resolving administration and compliance issues
- Monitor recordkeeper message boards and track communication
- Ensure timely distribution of required notices and monitor deadlines
- Review and approve participant transactions
- Perform annual nondiscrimination testing and other compliance tests
- Prepare and electronically file Form 5500 and related government forms
Education
- NIPA credential, ASPPA credential, or a 4-year college degree required or equivalent experience
- Ongoing continuing education or professional designation support provided
