Client Relationship Manager

Administrative Fiduciary Services (AFS) is a remote-focused TPA seeking experienced 401(k) Client Relationship Managers to manage partner-level client relationships and ensure excellent plan administration. The role supports a consistent 37.5-hour work week, ongoing professional development, and a benefits package including medical, dental, disability, life insurance, a 401(k) with match, and HSA options.

Skills

  • 5+ years of 401(k) plan administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) testing
  • Experience with Form 5500 preparation and electronic filing
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking
  • Ability to proactively manage a book of business independently
  • High level of critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Comfortable working remotely with provided home office equipment
  • Willingness to pursue and maintain professional credentials

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong client and advisor relationships to drive high retention
  • Manage a caseload of ~90–110 full-service partner-level clients
  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet weekly team goals
  • Coordinate with TPAs, recordkeepers, and advisors to resolve issues
  • Follow AFS policies and documented procedures for plan administration
  • Consult clients on plan operation and design questions
  • Identify and assist in resolving administration and compliance issues
  • Monitor recordkeeper message boards and track communication
  • Ensure timely distribution of required notices and monitor deadlines
  • Review and approve participant transactions
  • Perform annual nondiscrimination testing and other compliance tests
  • Prepare and electronically file Form 5500 and related government forms

Education

  • NIPA credential, ASPPA credential, or a 4-year college degree required or equivalent experience
  • Ongoing continuing education or professional designation support provided
